How will a crooked vertical stabilizer affect the flight of a model RC airplane? The vertical stabilizer is like 10 degrees off. Will this affect flight and if so how will it and how much? Will constant rudder/aileron/elevator trim be able to correct this? Lastly will the plane be flyable like this? Thanks
Does anyone have experience building rc model airplane kits? can a airplane kit be painted instead of monokoting it?

Do RC model airplanes have a function which will make the plane return to the remote control transmitter? I was just wondering, when novices are starting off with remote control airplanes(which have a large range), and they have trouble landing it, is there any option to have the plane return to the remote control transmitter and land it ? this is assuming this is some kind of high end model airplane which has a sensor to judge the altitude PS: I dont know anything about RC airplanes, was just wondering if anything like what i mentioned exists

Whats the smallest rc airplane engine out there? I've recently gotten into the wonderful world of rc. Ive been a model builder for years and now im learning to fly some of the models i build. As most modelers obcess about is making things smaller. II want to stay with nitro, but all the engines i see would be too heavy. Can anyone reccomend a nitro engine that would be very small and still be able to have throttle control?
I have a rc model airplane that is gas powered. I have not started it in years. Help? I have a model airplane that I got like 6 years ago, lmao. Dosn't seem like that long , but i guess it has. I do not remember any thing on how to start it. I need help on figuring out how to start it and what i should do before i start it. I havn't started it up in probobaly 4 years. I flew it alot For those 2 years. I know i need fuel for it i think the engine was a .60 ... if that makes sense. it was a trainer. i know i had to use a glow plug and choke it and i think start at full throttle.../? I searched the internet for stuff on how to start one and could not find. I dont want to hurt the engine by starting it up after letting it sit so just tell me if i need to take it apart and clean / lube it up. I have rebuilt car engines so i think i can figure it out, just say if you think i should do that. THanks so much
are glow engine RC model airplanes being replaced with electric? I have been flying model airplanes for over 15 years , and I noticed since new battery and motor technology is so much cleaner and powerful that the fellas in my club are gradually switching over to electric RC planes. is this true. do you think someday glow engines will be obsolete?

RC Airplane... BIG Fuselage, and how do I wire the control surfaces? I'm trying to make an RC model of the Sonic cruiser, and i don't know what the best type of material is that i should use for the fuselage... I'm thinking around 4 feet long, and also, what's the best way to make it so that i can turn the steering wheel, along with the rudders. Thanks!
I'm looking to buy an RC Airplane, what do you recommend? My brother is interested in a RC Airplane for christmas. He has never flown one before, but is a fast learner. What type of plane would be good for him at a reasonable cost. I am looking for something that is good for a beginner but would also be fun for him after he learns the basics (something not to slow and something that he can do tricks with). Some model ideas and reasons for recommendations would be helpful. Thank you my brother is 36 years old
Song needed! For a video on a model airplane club? I need a song for a bunch of older men's club of rc model airplanes suggestions?

Should I wrap my RC Airplane with Packing Tape? Hi All I recently bought a radio controlled plane, a Super Cub LP. I am new to the hobby. I saw a comment from a Customer on Amazon saying the following: "Bullet-proof your SC by wrapping the wings, fuselage and cowl completely with clear packing tape (yes, every surface). Make sure to keep the cowl-holes free for keeping the motor cool. " In one way I think this would be good idea, as I'm sure I'll have crashes while I'm learning to fly. In another way I wonder would it weigh down the plane or maybe make it unbalanced in flight. So what do you think, is it a good idea to wrap a model airplane in clear packing tape?
Model RC airplanes UK? Hi there, I'm looking to buy someone a cheapish but good quality RC airplane for a birthday. Up to £30. Ideally I'd like to buy them the full kit which they can build themselves but comes with the transmitter, battery, engine etc... Does any one know of any where online that I can buy from or a shop within the Midlands? This man is going to be 34 so a little kiddy one will not do. Although he's never done this before he does pick these things up very quickly. Many thanks in advance.
What's the most affordable and durable RC Airplane to start with? (Ready To Fly)? I had lots of fun with a $30 foam Air Hogs model from Toys R Us, but it had no rudder or pitch control. Basically you just bend the rudder for a tighter or larger flight circle. I would like to find another good, durable, ready to fly plane...hopefully for under $100. Suggestions?
Want a P-51 Mustang RC model? I'm looking for a birthday present for my boyfriend who's an airplane nut (he's also an engineering grad student). He wants an RC airplane kit; he liked looking at the old P-51 Mustangs when we went to AirVenture this year so I was thinking of a model of one of those. Can anyone recommend a good one? Thanks. Since he's an engineer he likes building stuff, so preferably a kit and not a "ready-to-fly" one.
I want to build a working scale model of the USS Nimitz, w/RC airplanes. Is this possible? I'm planning on using the R/C bombers to deliver cola cans to me. I decided to not make my creation. Before that I chamged my mind and decided to use it as a base fir waterballoon fights. Ok, call me immature. But it is SO fun.
RC Airplane Beginner Planes? m really interested in RC Planes and have been looking for a cheap beginners model thats RTF. Ones that i have found are the Mini Super Cub, Firebird Commander, and Firebird Phantom. The Mini Super Cub is the most expensive and both Firebirds are the same price. Could you tell me what air plane would be best for an un-experienced beginner?
RTF RC Airplanes? I want to get my father a Eletric Model Airplane for fathers day. Does anyone know any good websites to get Ready To Fly RC Airplanes?
How do you teach a bird? I'm trying to teach a parakeet to fly a model airplane. I've modified a RC airplane so that it can be flown by a parakeet. I just need advice on how to teach a parakeet how to do tricks. Any advice would be appreciated.
parts for an RC electric remote airplane? I bought a remote plane for my husband for Xmas. And we were wondering if anyone knows where we would be able to find parts for it if we ever should need them. It's a RC Dreamer-207 model. It takes a NI-Mh 7.2- 950 Mah battery-(Transmitter 3 channel) If you should know of anyplace, would really appreciat the help.---Betty
How to make a rc aeroplane? Hi frnds i hav a rc car and im planning to use its machinery to make a rc plane on my own. I hav a model of plastic plane which is exactly as a boeing. Frnds ill be glad if u support me wit ur answers.
Are there any RC Helicopter Kit that doesn't come assembled? I've been trying to find an rc helicopter/submarine/airplane/etc... kit that doesn't come pre-assembled. In essence, I'm trying to search for something rc that comes with all the parts (motors, servos, remote control etc.) and maybe a video camera for the rc model. Price range from 0-$500
Could a RC Airplane powered by batteries or fuel carry a payload of 84 grams 30 miles, airdrop it and return? If the wings had solar cells ontop of them to generate extra power to replace that lost in the battery or extra fuel cells. I'm picturing something like a C 130, with the weight being so much I was thinking of model rocket boosters to help get it off the ground actuated by a switch on the remote. the 84 grams is in relation to (4) ink cartridges for printers @ school districts (I'm lazy and don't want to waste automotive fuel). I guess then my next question is how many lbs of lift is required to lift...say 10 grams? I can do the math once I have a relational figure to compare it to... Then how much thrust would it take to get the plane off the ground? (so I can calculate how many model engines it will take...)
do all rc engines fit on all chasis? i have a k&b model engine, it was made for an rc airplane or an rc boat, but can i put it into a car chasis, and if i can, can i just buy any old rc buggy chasis and put the engine on it, or do i have to buy a certain one , or have one custom made?
RC model plane fuel and radio? I am considering buying a rc model kit plane. the kit is a great planes piper cub 20. It was recommended to use a "O.S. 15LA Non-ring 10G Carburetor 871 Muffler", this is from america, but could anyone tell me if the fuel in the UK would work in this engine? As i comes with 10% airplane fuel. But in the UK it is 16% Also should i buy the radio and servos from america as it is cheaper or should i get it in the UK? Is there a difference in the voltage or is it batteries used?
There are model airplane kits available from HobbyCraft...? which are like airfix, cost about £15, but can be made as models, or into RC planes if bought with the RC parts (basically by inserting electric, gas or petrol engines)! Does anyone know what companies make these? I saw them in store (quite a collection of them in cardboard boxes about 60cm by 15cm by 10cm) last week and forgot the manufacturers name! *doh* Heya! Thanks for the info, but I like building stuff and doing the electronics rather than flying etc. For instant, I built a matchstick model boat (of my own design) recently and fitted up to be rc, after a test it went on the shelf to make room for my next project!
Source for 2mm liteply wood 300mm x 1200mm? This is a very lite plywood material made from poplar wood for building RC model airplanes.
Smoke system for electric rc plane? i just bought a Sapac Extra 330L electric rc airplane and noticed an empty space inside the fuselage with a straw leading to a hole in the bottom where demonstration smoke comes out in the real full scale aircraft (mine is a scale model), and i was wondering if this is actually what it's for, a small smoke machine. and if it is does anyone know where to get one? i live in Victoria, Australia
What is good good electric plane to learn RC flying on? I'm an adult, training for my second childhood. I would like to buy a radio controlled electric powered airplane to learn how to fly. What make and model do you recommend and why? I eventually want to be able to graduate to a 4 channel plane, and/or helicopter.

western system epoxy? want to know where to get finish cure epoxy for RC model airplanes
model airplane questions, wondering if i should start? hello second message thingy i made of this in case my other doesn't get read on the less read subjects lmao... anyways i was wondering what companies i should buy from for model airplanes... if glue together or snap together is better, i'm guessing glue cus it sounds harder and better quality... if there are some tips i should take note of... if there are other kinds of model airplanes besides glue and snap... and i am not interested in RC, just want one i can make and put on a stand and enjoy for the ages to come... i am 14 so maybe there is a type of model airplane easier for my young age than the more seasoned veterans of modeling... your help in answering these questions would very much be appreciated... and maybe there is a question i should have asked that i didn't so if u have personal advice, i'd be happy to hear it.
Question about model airplane kits, thinking about beginning to build kits.? Well i am 14 years old and i am currently thinking about building model airplane kits. a few questions i have are what companies i should consider buying from... If there are certain kits a beginner like me should be looking for... and if i should buy glue together kits or snap together kits, I'm thinking glue together, because snap together sounds much to easy and not as much of a time hog... and lastly if there are other kits to build beside snap together and glues together... oh and i am not interested in RC, i want a plane i can build and put on a stand to revel in it's majestic beauty lol... well your help would very much be appreciated...
Looking for a hobby magazine that is strictly about radio controlled model helicopters? I am looking for a hobby magazine that's just about radio controlled helicopters. I have a copy of Fly RC, and it looks good, but it covers radio controlled model airplanes mostly. Sense R/C helicopters are much harder to master, it looks like there would be a hobby magazine that is devoted to the radio controlled helicopter hobby. Ideally I would like a magazine that would not only cater to the experienced R/C helicopter pilots, but would help the newbies like myself as well. There are just so many models out there for the beginner to chose from. The Chinese imports alone are too numerous to count, and their affordable! Then there are the hop-up parts, a whole cottage industry has sprung up around, making improvements in the basic Chinese imports. Can anybody give me an Internet site that will list all of the radio controlled helicopter hobby magazines? I know there must be several out there.
were can i find gas rc planes a lot of assembly required? is there a good web site were i can find good r/c model airplanes that use gas and would take a lot of assembly like months of assembly under preferably $250 but will go as high as $300 for a really good model. and can you also recommend a good project plane. Thank You
Want to buy my first R/C Airplane? I am an absolute beginner in the RC model world, and while I have at times flown real aircraft have no idea how to fly a RC model. I am looking to buy a model aircraft, I need advice on a beginners model perhaps a powered glider? To learn on I would like it to be easy to build/fly but not to look like a child’s toy (a bit of an ego thing). If you can think of any RTF or ARTF KIT’s (including all the extras i'l need) you have that meet my spec. BIG THANK YOU
RC Flight Simulator? My dad has been flying Model Airplanes for well over 40 years, but he really wants a flight simulator to try new manuevers without crashing the planes. I'd like to get him one for a christmas present, but I don't even have the faintest clue which products are best and best for the price. My budget for this gift is $200 tops, but preferably around $150. He will need the RC controller so make sure you don't just list an expansion pack. Thanks!

RC plane starter sets I'm 14 and I want to start flying model planes and I would like to eventually get into gas model airplanes so what should I get to start?
would this sound like a dumb idea? I have the interesting hobby of flying remote control (RC) airplanes, basically they are small airplanes that take off and I control them from the ground. I fly aerobatic models and I have been experimenting with synchronizing the flight to music (kinda like the iTunes visualizer, just with an airplane!) Would it be a dumb idea to choreograph a flight to "Far Away" by Nickelback and record the flight and send it to my girlfriend (she actually tolerates my geeky hobby quite well!) and attach a little message like, "even if you're a mile away, it seems like you're Far Away" I thought of it and wanted to make sure I wouldn't look like a weirdo before I actually put in the ~5 hrs to choreograph, practice, and memorize the routine. Thanks!
How are these Long Range Fart Delivery methods? All methods involve water balloons filled with water that 1 or more people farted constantly in. 1) RC AIRPLANE/HELICOPTER: You load em up with water balloons containing FART loaded water. When they reach mission target, bombs away. 2) MODEL ROCKET: Fires high up into the sky above your victim. Then the fuselage tears apart and the waterballoons fall down. 3) HELIUM BALLOON: You strap one or more helium balloons to a small soft cloth woven basket. Inside are a handful of your stinky waterballoons. When it ascends high enough, the helium balloons pop. And well, may god have mercy on whoever the water b's land. 4) RC CAR WITH PNEUMATIC LAUNCHER: You drive it up to mission target and then activate the pneumatic launcher. Up goes the water balloon. 5) SMART WATERBALLOON BOMBS: With GPS and laser gyroscope gadgetry, you rig up a "bomb" aparatus. It's got fins on the side. When the "bomb" is released, it then flies toward your target and tears apart, releasing the mighty fart waterballoons. 6) MIRV MODEL ROCKETS: Basically you have one large ass model rocket. Inside are a bunch of smaller self-guiding waterballoon carrying rockets. The mother rocket reaches suitable destination and altitude. It then blows off the warhead and releases all the little rockets. 7) PIRATE RADIO: Unfortunately only the sound gets transmitted. Your aparatus stores a CD quality audio sample of your fart. Then it plays it to the radio transmitter, which rapidly hops throughout the entire frequency spectrum. No matter what frequency tuned into, everyone hears your butt. 8) RC SUBMARINE: Just like real submarines, they can stay deep and send missiles right up through the water.
help choosing a RC helicopter? I want to get my brother a remote control helicopter, but I have no idea which is good and which is crap. He flies (real) airplanes, and paraglides, so I think he would master a beginner heli to quickly. He has plenty of space to fly it in, I doubt if he would want to fly it in doors. I know they can be expensive, but I would like to spend under $100. I've looked at many websites, but I have no idea how to choose one, so just leaving a RC heli website does me no good. If someone could please give me model names and where I might find it, it would be VERY helpful. Even if you don't know a good one to buy, if you know what NOT to buy, please let me know! Thanks in advance! I appreciate your responses, and will pick a best answer! DJSmesser, thanks so much, your answer is exactly what I was looking for! What is the difference between the electric and the gas powered? Why would one be better than the other? Pros/Cons?
