What aircraft is soon to be retired from the military?

I know the Ch-46 is starting to be phased out. What other aircraft will soon be retired?

  1. - F117 is already headed to Tonopah for storage. - The MH53 will also go out as the CV-22 comes into AF inventory. - Speaking of Helo's the HH60 will go away when the new CSAR helo is finalized; in just a few years from now. - When/if the new tanker deal's signed, the KC135 will be retired. - It's POSSIBLE that the E4 command and control aircraft will also go away. Either permanently or rolled into the B767 common-widebody. - EA6 is slated for retirement in the near future (<5yrs) when the F18G becomes operational. - Speculating, but once Global Observer moves from ACTD to program, the U2 will probably go away. There's six or seven off the top of my head EDIT: the replacement for the F117 is....nothing. It's a single-mission aircraft, and actually is 1960s technology. There are ZERO new fighter programs other than F22 and F35. These may well be the last manned fighters for the USAF (at least). UAVs are more and more combat capable.
  2. Marine Harrier is to be replaced by the vertical thrust F-35. F-16, and F-18 are to be replaced with the F-35
  3. They scheduled the following 1,763 "F-35A" CTOL variants for the USAF, replacing F-16s and A-10s. 609 "F-35B" STOVL variants for the USMC, replacing F/A-18C/Ds and AV-8B Harriers. 480 "F-35C" CV variants for the US Navy, replacing F/A-18C/D Hornets
  4. navy F14 air force F15
  5. The f117 surprisingly. That tells me, that they have something better coming out soon. (cough) secret aircraft (cough)
  6. MH-53 Pave Low III is schedule for its last flight on 30 Sep, the last day of this fiscal year. It is being replace by the MV-22 Osprey for Special Operations.
