Which remote control airplane or helicopter would you recommend for a 10 year old?
I'm looking to buy a remote control airplane or helicopter for my nephew who's turning 10. I see many online but most of them don't tell you the age group they're for. I'd like to get one that he can fly outdoors. My limit is $100. Anyone have any recommendations? I surely would appreciate your help. Thank you!

- i have airplanes and toy helis i liked airplanes but helicopters are so cool the ones you fly inside are really fun you can fly them up and down the stairs and stuff and hitting people with them but they can hurt don't do that but i like helicopters, is he more full of energy? likes to running around alot or is he more calm if hes more calm then a heli is the best i think there funner cause you get to fly in your house but airplanes you gotta go to a nice field and my mom and dad only take me like once a week or so cause you gotta drive there and stuff and if you crash it airplanes crash ALOT harder. so i will say helicopter
- The Air Hogs Aero Ace... I had one (I'm 17) about a year ago just to have a fun little thing to do with some friends. It is EXTREMELY easy to fly when the air is calm (wind speed below 5 mph), and best of all... its nearly impossible to break just by crashing it. It is flyable in spaces that are as small as about 20 square feet, but is much more fun in areas with about 40 square feet. The entire body is made of a foam material that is very crash resistant, and stands up very well. I will say however that this plane won't last more than a few months so... if you want something that will last for years this isn't what you want. It does have a small problem with the props tearing into the bottom wings during collisions but if you simply put some duct or packaging tape over the hole then it will still fly just as well as when it was new. I'm not sure where to find it... I got my at my local Toys'r'us (for $40) so you should check there or maybe amazon or ebay...
- you can get good ones at Costco.
- I am based in the UK, but I'm sure this helicopter is from the US, so you could google for it. It is small, can be flown indoors or out, and is for age 8+ (see description) http://www.fatbananafeet.com/powered/x-rotor_picoo_z_micro_helicopter.html
- do not know if i would recommend a helicopter yet. i notice you put a limit of 100 dollars. ok, so probably a indestructible park flyer, with rudder abd elevator controls, most work well. does your nephew show an avid interest in rc? oh, nothing is indestructible, but you know what i mean. stay below 100 dollars. do not get anything fancy. let him get interested. stay small. and electric.
- Costco has some...
