Why is my Microsoft Flight Sim 2004 Century of Flight so slow when i control it with my keyboard?

I dont have a joystick does the game need this? The controls work with a keyboard although its is sluggish. Is this normal? Thanks

1. I have the same thing with my dell4100, with Win.Me operating system. Flight Sim 2004. My problems is that No matter what I do, I cannot get my Micro Soft Side Winder Joy Stick, to properly operate with that game. I use my joy stick sucessfully with other installed games, It is just unstable with any program after 2004 were written. Maybe you need a few internal up grades, like I do.
2. The system is designed so you dont go off the rails when flying. If you hold one of the keys its gonna be diffuctult to presws the opposite direction enough to level off. So to resolve this Microsoft have tried to stop you from going too far one way. To rectify this try adjusting you keyboard so the repeat buttons are faster. If your using flight sim alot though, Just get with the joystick it was so worth the measly 15 pound i spent on a throttle joystich at GAME a couple weeks ago, its already payed for itself through the fun i have had!. Have fun flying anyway you can!!!
3. Is it only slow with the keyboard or with every thing if so it's probably that you do not have enough RAM in your computer 512mb i think is the minimum.
